For College Park students College Park students, Duluth classroom
College Park is one of the metro cities that crosses a county line. Gateway Center Arena, owned by the city, notes that its building and grounds sit in both counties. Whichever side you live on, class happens in one place: 3250 Peachtree Industrial Blvd, Ste 201, in Duluth.
The city describes itself as close to I-85, I-285, the CSX line and MARTA. There is no single typical starting point, though. A student near the Main Street historic district and one off Camp Creek Parkway can face quite different trips. Use the directions button, set your own origin, and look at the route for the time you would leave. If you hope to use transit for part of the way, map every leg ahead of time instead of assuming it connects.
The Armed course includes range qualification, but not at the classroom address. Bookeo shows the range details for each date, and the Academy line can confirm session hours before you commit.
Why College Park has so many security settings
The Gateway Center campus packs a lot of activity into one district. The city lists the Georgia International Convention Center, Gateway Center Arena, the Historic College Park Golf Course, hotels, a Class-A office building and a BMW Training Center there, all tied together by the ATL SkyTrain to the airport and the rental car center. The city calls the GICC Georgia's second-largest convention center, with metro Atlanta's largest ballroom.
Gateway Center Arena seats about 5,000 and is home to the WNBA's Atlanta Dream and the College Park Skyhawks G League team. Game nights, concerts and graduations bring sudden waves of arrivals at doors, bag checks and seating areas. Those are the access control and crowd communication tasks practiced in the Unarmed course, along with writing up anything that happens on shift.
Away from the campus, College Park has the fourth largest urban historic district in Georgia, with 867 structures on the historic register, a Main Street business district and Woodward Academy, which the city describes as the largest independent school in the continental United States. Historic blocks, campuses and small businesses all lean on patrol officers who can observe, document and de-escalate.
The College Park Main Street program, established in 1999, also offers facade grants for businesses in the Main Street and Virginia Avenue district, a sign of continued investment in storefronts that benefit from patrol.
